Hydrotherapy is a form of therapeutic exercise performed in a body of water such as a pool. The benefits of hydrotherapy (in contrast with land-based exercise) include: lower impact on your body, improving your balance, mild-moderate resistance, reduction in swelling, pain relief. Hydrotherapy is an excellent option for those with fractures that are still healing, those in early stages of injury rehabilitation, lower limb injuries, people looking to get back into exercise after a long period of inactivity.
